When creating a trade, the sending options available to you will depend on the item you're selling, your location and the eligibility requirements for each service.
Why can't I see SMARTDrop Kiosk?
As of 1 September 2026, SMARTDrop Kiosks have been deactivated for trade-ins and will be removed from stores over the coming weeks.
As a result, SMARTDrop Kiosk is no longer offered as a sending option when creating a trade.
We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Can I still use Timpson?
Yes, Timpson remains available for eligible trades and will continue to be shown as a sending option where applicable.
Why can't I see Timpson?
If the Timpson option isn't visible, your trade may not meet the eligibility requirements.
To qualify for Timpson, all of the following criteria must be met:
- You must be within the service area of a participating Timpson store
- The device must be an accepted model of iPhone, Samsung mobile, or iPad. Please note that Timpson can only accept networked iPads that support a SIM and 4G/5G connectivity
- The trade must contain a single tech item only
- The device must be in acceptable condition and not show significant damage that could affect its functionality
- The payment method selected must not be a charity payment
- The trade must be created within the United Kingdom
- Your trade order must pass our security and verification checks. We can't disclose the details of these checks, as this could increase the risk of misuse of our systems
If any of these criteria aren't met, Timpson won't be shown as an available sending option.
What should I do if I've already selected SMARTDrop Kiosk?
If you've already generated a SMARTDrop Kiosk QR code and visit a kiosk location, you'll be redirected to Royal Mail.
Your existing QR code will continue to work and can be used at a Post Office without needing to create a new trade.
