How do I remove my personal data before selling my device?

Before sending your device to us, we strongly recommend removing all personal information and accounts. This helps protect your privacy and ensures your device can be processed without delays.


Before you send your device

Please make sure you:

  • Back up any important photos, videos, contacts and files.
  • Remove any SIM cards.
  • Remove any memory cards.
  • Sign out of any accounts linked to the device.
  • Remove any security locks and account locks.
  • Factory reset the device. 

Apple devices

If you're selling an Apple device, you'll need to:

  • Sign out of your Apple Account (Apple ID).
  • Remove your iCloud account.
  • Disable Find My iPhone / Activation Lock.
  • Factory reset the device.

If you're selling a Samsung or Android device, you'll need to:

  • Remove any Samsung accounts.
  • Remove any Google accounts.
  • Factory reset the device.

Do you wipe data from devices when they arrive?

Yes. As part of our processing procedures, devices are data wiped during refurbishment and processing. However, we strongly recommend removing all personal data yourself before sending your device. This helps protect your information and ensures any account locks are removed before assessment.


I've left a SIM or memory card in my device

Please remove any SIM cards and memory cards before sending your device.

We can't guarantee the return of SIM cards or memory cards that are accidentally left inside a device during processing.
