What condition does my Tech need to be in?

When selling your device to musicMagpie, you'll be asked to select the condition that best describes its current state. Our condition options are Excellent, Good and Poor.

It's important to choose the correct condition, as we'll assess your device when it arrives and compare it against the condition selected when the order was created.

Condition requirements can vary between different devices, so always check the specific condition descriptions shown during the valuation process.

How do you assess my device?

Once we receive your device, our technicians carry out a quality assessment which includes:

  • Functional testing
  • A 70-point device check
  • Lost and stolen checks using CheckMEND
  • Account lock checks, including iCloud, Samsung and Google accounts

If the condition doesn't match the description selected on your order, we'll send you a revised offer by email. You'll then have the option to accept or decline the revised value.

Excellent condition

Devices in Excellent condition receive our highest valuation.

Typically, an Excellent condition device will have:

  • No screen defects, such as screen burn, dead pixels or liquid damage
  • A fully functioning touchscreen
  • Battery health above 80%
